today's fashion friday is on an accessory that i enjoy all year round -- hats. as i'm sure many of you also struggle with, there are lots of days when i just don't have the energy to take a shower or deal with my hair. when you're healthy, you take for granted being able to hop in and out of the shower, brush your hair, or the twenty minutes it takes to style a cute updo! so many days my limbs just will not cooperate (or feel like they weight 50 pounds -- each) and taking a shower seems like a gruesome task, one that will leave my joints screaming in pain for hours afterwards. so instead, i just throw on a cute hat and out the door i go!
especially handy in winter weather when they do double duty to keep us warm, hats are equally trendy in the summer. great for the beach as an extra layer of sun protection, they also look adorable with a sundress or maxi dress, can look dressy when paired with khaki shorts and a chiffon shirt for a nice dinner, and are a great pairing for an outdoor summer wedding. they are also an easy outfit topper for just running errands or a quick lunch with friends, and a must have for any summer concert or night out on the town! they're so versatile and easy to match with just about any outfit, whether it's colorful and vibrant, classy black with an edgy vibe, or preppy and nautical, there's a hat for every chronic illness fighter to be able to perk up your wardrobe, look great, and save yourself the pain and struggle that comes with getting ready. i also included a few head wraps because they are a great alternative to hats in the super hot summer months when the temperatures are soaring but your hair is dirty and a hat just isn't appealing -- these great wraps will still cover the front of your hair without making a sweaty mess out of your whole head and will keep you cute while doing it.
i hope that you enjoy this week's fashion friday and find something that tickles your fancy! as always, if you have any suggestions or comments, please leave them down below. have a great weekend everyone! :)
Shopping for hats can often be tricky since hats aren't something that fit people the same across the board. I don't own any and I'm not sure if they'd look good on me, but my favourite hats are fedoras and sturdy, wide brim hats. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you don't have any hats! I think they would look great on you. I wear a hat or hair accessory at least once a week, so they are a real lifesaver for me. I didn't think that many people don't like or don't wear hats but from the response I am getting (or lack of response, I guess), it seems that most people are in your boat instead of mine! It's a good thing overall though, because I need to keep that in mind when I make my next selections for what item I feature. I love a good fedora though, too! :)
DeleteWhoops - I meant that I don't have any fedoras or wide brim hats. I have quite a few hats. :) The best hats that work well with my hair are berets. I love them! I pull them over my ears, so they end up looking stylish and are warm too. Not much of a response? :( You should sign up for Bloglovin'! That way if you don't get many responses at least you know that people are following your blog.
DeleteOh! Oops, lol. Well I am glad you have some hats. I like berets too. I wear mostly beanies, which are pretty similar to berets. :) Yeah, my hat post only got like 11 views :( I signed up for Bloglovin! Just now! haha. I forgot that you told me to do that before. It's really cool! I know it takes a while to build up a following but its frustrating. I really only use Instagram to "advertise" my blog because I'm like you in not wanting everyone to know my business so I don't talk about it on Facebook, so I don't know where else to tell people about it or to try to get more followers. Either way, I like doing it so even if not many people read it, I don't mind. =)
DeleteYay, you signed up! :D No worries, many of my posts get very little love too. I don't use Instagram, but I did set up a Facebook page recently and I joined Twitter (reluctantly though, and I made the mistake of using my main Facebook email >.< grr, oh well). You know what really helps with page views? Following other bloggers and commenting on their posts and also posting links to reviews on Facebook. For example, when I write up an Inner Circle review, I'll post a link of it on the Saffron Rouge page. I know page views shouldn't be that important, but it's something that helps a lot in encouraging me to write because I know that what I'm writing is actually reaching people. It's comforting. :)
